Cell-mediated Immunity

Abstract
It has been known that there are two ways of immune reactions, one of which is humoral immunity and the other cellular immunity. Cellular immunity is mediated by macrophages and the specific thymus dependent lymphocyte (T-lymphocyte) with its products.
It is well known that cell mediated immunity plays an important functions in various kinds of immune reactions, especially in DHS, transplantation immunity etc. This part of immunity is rapidly progressing day by day and it is expected that the immunologic problems related to the transplantation and malignancy will be solved in near future.
This report is concerned primarily with cell-mediated immunity including the main subjects on T-cell and macrophage, the mechanism of expression of cell-mediated immunity, the role of cell-mediated immunity in resistance to various types of infections, the defective function of cell-mediated immunity and the methods of diagnosis of immunological diseases.
